ENDEAVOR CHARTER SCHOOL 2022-2023 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Dustin Embrey, Chair
Dustin joined the Board in February 2021. He is Executive VP for enterprise software company Rival. Dustin received his Master's Degree from Central Michigan and his Bachelor's Degree from Radford University. Dustin and his wife have two daughters at ECS. Their third daughter will join ECS in a few short years. In his spare time, Dustin loves sports, cooking, exercising, and spending time with his family.
Israa Kanfoud, Treasurer
Israa joined Endeavor's board in July 2018. He received a BS in Finance and a Masters of Accounting (MAC) from North Carolina State University. Israa is currently an FP&A Manager at a Fortune 100 company. He is originally from Morocco and has been residing in the triangle since 2001 with his spouse, Bouchra, and their two daughters.
Tracy DeMarco, Secretary
Tracy joined the Endeavor Board in June 2017. She received a B.A. in English from Duke University and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but she always roots for the Blue Devils. A Wake Forest native, Tracy is a litigator in the Raleigh office of McGuireWoods LLP where she has practiced since relocating from Washington, D.C. in 2014. Tracy lives in Wake Forest with her husband, Paul, and two sons. Tracy is glad to be a part of the Endeavor family and enjoys serving the community.
Chris DeRienzo
Chris is the Chief Medical Officer at WakeMed. He relocated his family from Asheville to the Raleigh/Wake Forest area in the summer of 2020. His three children currently attend ECS. Chris serves on Endeavor's Governance Committee.
Jaclyn Parks
Jaclyn joined the Endeavor Board in April 2019. Originally from Greensboro, Jaclyn has been happy to call the Triangle home since 1996. She is a proud Journalism School graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, but found her calling in event planning and graphic design. She is currently the Director of Home Tours & Events for the Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County but spent ten years prior to that planning weddings and other social events. She and her husband Dan have lived in Wake Forest since 2006 and have two daughters and one crazy Plott Hound (the North Carolina State Dog!).
David Roy
David is the Chief Financial Officer for the North Carolina Turnpike Authority and serves on the Finance Committee. He has a blended family of 5 children, including a Leesville Road High Schooler, three who attend Endeavor, and a toddler. He is excited to support the school through membership on the Board.
Alyssa Ruth
Alyssa, CPCE, is a Senior Event Consultant at Curated Events. She joined the board in 2022 and serves on the Resource Development Committee, and is thrilled to be a part of the ECS community. Alyssa’s background in events includes production, design, and coordination of social and corporate events, primarily weddings, fundraisers, and university functions. Alyssa is an active member of the National Association of Catering & Events and serves on the Board of Directors for the Leadership Raleigh Alumni Association. She’s an avid runner, a mom to a wonderful daughter who attends ECS, and a passionate volunteer who loves serving others in her community.
Mike Gottlieb
Mike joined Endeavor’s board in July 2022 and is a member of the Resource Development Committee. He is the Director of Product Management for Oracle NetSuite, responsible for their CRM product suite. He has a BS in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from the University of Arizona. He has lived in the Raleigh area since 2004 with his wife and three kids, including an ECS class of ‘21 graduate now at Enloe HS, and a current ECS third grader. Previously, Mike served as the Business Alliance chairperson at Moore Square Middle School from 2018-2020 and loves being a part of his kids’ education. In his spare time, Mike loves all things sports, cooking, and traveling.
Connie Atkinson
Connie joined the Board in March 2022. She received a BA in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a Masters in Communication from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Connie is currently the Director of Talent Development at First Citizens Bank. She lives in Wake Forest with her husband, Robert, and their two children, both graduates of Endeavor. Connie serves on the Governance Committee.
